Baked Ziti with Italian Sausage
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook ziti according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, brown Italian sausage over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until softened.
3. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
4. In a large bowl, combine cooked ziti, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
5. Spread half of the ziti mixture in a baking dish. Top with half of the sausage and marinara mixture. Repeat layers.
6. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
8. Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.
Notes
- You can customize the recipe with your favorite type of Italian sausage.
- Make sure to let it cool slightly before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
